VOICE Foundation

Each year, the Tyler G. Hicks College Scholarship program offers a $5,000 scholarship to a high school senior who excels above and beyond academically and through community involvement. In addition, four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors, and one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a non-high school student returning to college with the desire to make a career change, advance their education, or support their drive to improve their financial well being. Applicants must be a member in good standing with McGraw-Hill FCU.

 

2016 Recipients

$5,000 Recipient
Bethany Boulanger will be attending Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. According to Bethany, this scholarship will help her achieve her goals of becoming an educator and bringing more attention and recognition to the field of education.

$1,000 Recipients
Marissa Anzalone will be attending Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA.
Kyle Fasanella will be attending Rochester Institute in Rochester, NY.
Cailin Harrell will be attending the University of North Carolina Wilmington in Wilmington, NC.
Serena King will be attending Capella University in Minneapolis, MN.
Julia Miles will be attending Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT.
Michelle Singh will be attending George Washington Univeristy in Washington, DC.

About Tyler G. Hicks
Tyler G. Hicks has been an integral part of the credit union's success over the past 45 years serving as president and currently as a member of the Board of Directors. He has exemplified how a good education along with passion and a willingness to learn can benefit a student's life.

 

About the VOICE Foundation

The VOICE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes and manages the credit union's charitable activities and participates in financial literacy education and other programs that reflect the interests of our membership and the local community. 

Our Mission

The VOICE Foundation is committed to providing financial literacy programs, scholarship awards and outreach activities to improve our community.

To Join McGraw-Hill FCU via the VOICE Foundation:

  • Make a one-time donation of $10, which entitles you to credit union membership.
  • Your $10 VOICE donation entitles you to a personal membership only, Should extended family and friends wish to take advantage of credit union membership, they will be able to join with an additional $10 donation each.

What We Do

Through donations, the Foundation is dedicated to:

  • Promoting financial education seminars that benefit credit union members, volunteers, students and communities
  • Supporting financial education initiatives that provide members and the community with online tools and resources
  • Volunteering time to local community organizations
  • Providing educational scholarships through the Tyler G. Hicks Scholarship Program for our members


The Foundation's Primary Beneficiaries

First Book - Manhattan | Visit>>
Grants books to organizations supporting childhood literacy in the New York City metropolitan area. An innovative leader in social enterprise, they distribute millions of free and low-cost books to disadvantaged children and the programs that serve them. 

The Children's Miracle Network | Visit >>

Donations support research, training, new equipment, and pay for uncompensated hospital care, in order to improve the lives of as many children as possible.

The National Junior Tennis & Learning of Trenton | Visit>>

NJTLT develops and implements innovative and collaborative programs to help provide underserved youth with the support they need to grow up healthy and succeed in school and in life. The programs work to keep kids off the streets and on the courts, instead of in the courts. Their initiatives strengthen families, promote healthy lifestyles and literacy, and foster community involvement.
